Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend was just wonderful.....no other word describes it!

Wonderful Friday!!

I was invited to lunch at a friend's house, to visit and discuss our craft projects and different "work in progress". Lots of "ooohing and aaahing," a delicious meal, wonderful conversation, and then off to a local Christmas Bazaar.

I did behave myself, buying only a locally handcrafted wooden spoon.

Cozy evening, fire in the fireplace, ourselves for company, Licorice tea, shawl and slipper...time to learn to ripple......bliss.
Wonderful Saturday!!

French Toast for breakfast...YUM

A handsome new Rooster named Jim arrived at our place. He is a Black Bantam Frizzle and is adorable. So far the ladies in the hen house are not impressed...

Goodies from the Library

A new DVD set...

Church Bazzaar ~ lovely bag

I love the fabric...

Work I LOVE around our HOME....

Clean kitchen, folded, sweet smelling laundry, easy, simple meals.

Time to read....Time to nap.....luxury.
Wonderful Sunday!!
My youngest child's 20th Birthday....which is purely unbelievable.

A delicious birthday supper..the bday boy requested homemade deep fried Buffalo wings and ceasar salad...
Yummy dessert...Mississippi Mud Cake with Choclate Glaze
A finished cradle afghan....a labour of love...what a blessing it was to make this
A pretty edge...

And a Wonderful recipe to share....Lemon Garlic Shrimp with Rice Pilaf....posts to follow....

Have a wonderful day!
Niki

The colors in the afghan at the blog you linked are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I have to make one on those colors.
The baby afghan you made is so beautiful! I love those colors as well and the edging just sets the whole thing off perfectly! Beautiful, beautiful stitching!
I am so happy for you that your weekend was this tremendous.
My OD and I are going though with a project I had wanted to start a few weeks back. Since my computer died last week, I don't have the list anymore, but it is along the lines of getting rid of 50 things. Today (and I count it as one) we got rid of all the JUNK on my frontroom shelf. I am so grateful that my OD has a better memory than I and she is just (lovingly) pushy enough to get me to more! I think my weekend although not as much fun, will be a great weekend!
Sorry to go on so long...

Jim the Rooster is soooo cute! He's all fluffy and spiffy. Maybe the girls will warm up to him.

I wanted to thank you again for the lovely dinner on Sunday. It was nice to get together for Jon's birthday. Thank you also Rob for letting Elise win at the farming game. : ) Your baby afghan turned out beautiful. You are one talented lady. Your sewing room is wonderful. What a nice place to get away and just work your magic. Have a great week and have fun with Vanessa and Henry today.

Love irene
